Acrylic Painting and Collage
When she is not teaching kindergarten, Melinda enjoys hiking, running, kayaking and swimming in the beautiful Black Hills of South Dakota. Taking pictures and paper crafting have always been favorite pastimes of hers. Another passion is sending letters and cards to people! She is single handedly trying to save the USPS. (Well, she and her mom anyway and the few others who still write letters!) Nothing makes her happier than a colored envelope in her mailbox… or at least envelopes without windows!
Melinda uses acrylic paint in her work. Once she has large sheets of paper covered with paint, she sets to work cutting, tearing, and arranging the separate pieces into a landscape resembling the beautiful scenery here in the Black Hills. Notice that all her cards have a sun; this is because in her words, she was “made for sunny days.” All her cards have a 3D effect and are one of a kind.
She encourages you to make someone’s mailbox a happy place today and thanks you for taking a moment to look over her work!
